Africa has vast resources that are potentially enough to lift it from the abyss of poverty but due to internal and external factors it is immersed in the depths of misery. Among them is dictatorship, corruption, trade imbalance, wars to mention but a few.
In the mirror of development I stand
But sadly enough I do not see myself
My image is missing. I am Africa
I’m suffering from a poverty eclipse
Wondering why poverty is a problem
When it has been solved in the West
Wondering why the germ is not killed
When it has been assiduously studied

Excellent, Abdi-Noor! As to why poverty has been solved in the West - has it really? - you have to look at the history of colonialism, exploitation and a dozen other factors...the plunderer took and gave language and 'order' in return - a fair exchange? I don't think so.
