I have just asked myself " What is a Museum?" and in answering to myself I came up with this short poem. Glad to share it with you.
N:B: Smålands Museum in Växjö, Sweden is sometimes referred to as Kulturparken. That is where I run Migration Memories Project, which is mainly focusing on collecting stories from immigrants and refugees. If you have one please send it to me. Thanks.
Adrift with the changing winds of Time
My father confronted the challneges of life
He aimed at the summit of a success mountain
He had a dream of his own in his own way
I am a refugee from war-torn Somalia
I have a dream of my own in my own way too
My children are growing up in Sweden
They have theirs in their own way as well
I always dreamed of linking up our dreams
But no way was I able to merge our dreams
Until I joined the kulturparken of Småland
Where dreams are linked in many ways
Where the past is connected to the future
Where yesterday and tomorrow embrace
Where the unborn meets with the ancestor
