Guns are my handball
Explosives are my toys
Despair is my hope
Disease is my companion
Death is my future
Terrorists are my custodians
Piraates are my guardians
Hunger is my daily cusine
Famine is what I breathe
Neglect is my daily care
On the thorns of starvation
I sleep with a donor lullaby
Agencies know how to sing it
Somalia is another nation with a factionalized society. Theft and corruption are rampant. Businessmen and corrupt public officials are stealing and buying the relief food provided by generous caring nations from around the world and then selling it to their own starving Somali friends and neighbors! When they do not take the food from the mouths of starving children and adults Al Qaeda operatives steal it to support their militant operatives. Abdi-Noor, this is not a question of the world not yet awakening. This is a question of a people literally unable to provide anything for themselves due to a civil and cultural war that has raged for decades. Are expatriate Somalis sending food, money and human resources or returning themselves to their native land to help those still living there to cope and become free?
