Sometimes it feels good to empty your head of useless expectations that will never be met. You know, the ones that are more like expectorant than expectation. The kind where your hearts desire makes a 180 pirouette in avoidance of a head on collision with wish fulfillment (as if you could ever really get that lucky). But you keep on wringing your hands and furrowing your brow refusing to believe you’ve been blinded a light which is nothing more than a mirage in a lonely desert. And you keep standing at the chasm so wide that it doesn’t even echo back when you scream out HELP! So yes, empty your head of expectations, or at least build a craft out of lofty of dreams, bind them with your angry wastefulness and set adrift, away from your blackened season of no love.
They're buggers, those expectations. I find the one people have placed on me tend to weigh heavier than my own.

Wise, yet sad, Sara. Some unattainable dreams should be set adrift, but others should be clung to and chased after constantly. Life would truly be meaningless if we gave up all our dreams.

Sounds to me as if someone has decided to take a cruise, alone.
