I am an amazing woman

who used to think of You.

To me, You were like a God.

God’s, should be touched,

they should be felt deep inside

I felt You…I loved You

but You, you were only human.

I have failed with You,

and time is almost up.

Yet as each day starts

I take a deep breath

raise my face up to the sun

let the wind wipe away my tears

and step into the unknown.

I have discovered

almost is not enough.

--almost is closer to zero

than is one.

No, I don't agree. Gods should not be touched, loved, owned. They should always be people we are only allowed to dream of.
Next time go for a real human being.
Excellent poem.

This one makes me shiver with its truths! Delicious word usage!!
It reminds me of my poem InkBlots... letting go and moving on is paramount to our survival sometimes.

Pah! If we want to please another at our expense, then we are doomed to be their captive and a life of misery. We need to be one whole before we join another one whole soul. Once I realsed love is like loving the sunrise, or the smell of a rose, but never being attached, one then becomes free to love. Our programming is to please and be at the mercy of anothers wants and needs..... lol, if this is trite at this time of night, just hit delete...
Great poetry about our human conditon.ing

Ah but almost means you tried and in my books when it comes to love and life, you are not living unless you are trying to find and hold love regardless of the pain that is sometimes part of both.

The niggling, never-ending battle between the sexes . . . I think God made us do damn infuriating toward one another as his own practical joke toe the fiasco in the Garden . . . What!!! . . . Good a plan as any I've heard

"Almost is closer to zero than is one..." this line speaks volumes about how we often feel as though we do not give enough of our time and efforts to loved ones or to other commitments, due to various things, such as life hassles or work schedules. That being said, we're only human and cannot do it all. The sooner we are able to accept that we can only do and give our best (and nothing more than that), the happier we will be and the more we will, in turn, be able to give.

Beautiful writing, Sara.

Be well,

Jill
