It seems like most
EVERYDAY
I get a message
A phone call
An email
An ICQ transmission
From a friend
An aquaintance
An associate
Whatever
That says
“I don’t want to go on anymore”
I even see it here
In poems and stories
People with their hearts
Exposed and bleeding
In each and every case
They cry for release

I don’t understand
I see them as
The smartest
Most talented
Most creative
Bravest
Souls on earth

So my message
To my friends is
DON’T DO IT
Stay a while longer
Wait for tomorrow
Each day there is
Something new
Another beautiful sky
The perfection of rain
Even the voracious Earth
Nurturing in its embrace

Look around you
Children are giggling
Puppies are jumping
Cats are purring
Birds are flying high
Life is bubbling
Suffering yeah
But it keeps on going
It never gives up
So why should you?
