Salty Sunset Skies

I am on a cruise with three other couples, sailing on the Radisson Seven Seas Navigator. We are currently anchored in Key West. Last night we each took our complimentary bottle of champagne and met in one cabin for a bon voyage party. This was what struck me the most about that sail off.

My hair is not blonde

It's not long

Or straight.

My eyes are not blue,

Green,

Hazel

Or anything in between.

I am not extremely tall

Nor thin.

I am not up on the latest fashions

And I don't know Prada from Escada.

I don't have any kids

Laughing hysterically

As they race around the cabin

Periodically stopping to vomit.

But as the wind blows my curly brown hair straight

And I look across the horizon with my brown eyes

I wonder

Who could ask for anything better

Than to sail around the Caribbean

With a few friends

Melting our troubles away

Into salty sunset skies.

Sounds like a great trip. I hope you have a great time. You don't have to be up on anything( I know I'm not) to deserve a little piece of happiness.

Key West? How that mixes memory with desire. Thanks, Sara.

Hi Sara,
Glad to hear you are on your way, though I am just a little apprehensive, that penultimate line did bother me somewhat, “Melting your troubles away” the mind boggles at the possibilities.

No doubt, we will just have to wait with bated breath on the next episode.

Hope you stay well away from the Bermuda triangle.
Big Smiles.

Though, perhaps, only a 'taste' of your piece of Nirvana, Sara, it was scruptious.. a treat for my mind to savor. Leave it to you and your imaginative and generous nature to bring us along on your adventure.. oooooo... the mind pictures here! Now get back to that glorious gazing... sigh. katy xox.
