Eventually I'll run or fly. Latest poem written on Valentine's Day 2014

Thoughts of you linger in my mind

I try to stay down to earth

Close to that which I know for sure

Crouched low at the bottom

For to fly high on dreams in the sky

Is a risk I shouldn't be willing to take

Every time the balloon of hope starts to rise

It feels good to let truth have its way

Pop! There it goes! I'm coming down again

I like truth. I like reality

It's there that there are no shadows

No false pretenses that have to be analyzed

Who cares about the why's and the how's?

Who but God can understand such things?

There was a time when I drove myself crazy

Not anymore. I don't wonder. Who am I kidding?

You've made your position very clear

There's nothing else to say, just waiting

You keep distant, careful not to get too close

Where I stand in your eyes concealed by it all

What will be will be

I can choose a path but it's not for me to say

If I shall walk the entire length

Take a right, take a left, or get lost

The truth is I'm found

The truth is time irons out the reasons

My purpose is illuminated by the light

All I have to do is follow it

So don't fill my balloon with lies

That will lift me up into the air

Just to let me fall upon the dirt

That crushes bones into obvious dust

I'll stay on the bottom where I can see you clearly

I'll try to release your spell so there's no place to fall

I'll observe from down here and what I need to know

Will eventually set me free and I'll either run or fly

Reads like Valentine's Day has reached a turning point in your life. Regardless whether you run, or you fly, it's time to get away.
