If you weren't aware of it yet, my crazy Facebook friends have come up with 19 topics for me to write 19 poems and I'm going to try to write them in 19 days. I can't WAIT to write the one about the tadpoles! Oh wait! Maybe the iced tea poem will be more interesting than the tadpoles? This poem called hope is #3 of 19

3 of 19 - Topic suggested by Joe Crace

Sometimes a matter of life or death

And sometimes a silly notion

You will never be with that GQ man

Or swim across the ocean

But when as a child you were told

To open your hand and close your eyes

In that brief moment that seemed like forever

You knew what it felt like deep inside

Growing onward to better things

You learned that it held a key

Could be grieving, could be joy

Could be the answer to everything

No longer a child under control

You remember the first time you gave it

No longer uninformed sleeping in death

You are grateful that you have it

It lives or dies in each one of us

Usually a teller of our future

If even the helpless can hold it close

Surely we can get it sooner

You can place it on the wrong thing

And in that case you're going down

Better to trust it with perfection

That way you know it'll be around

The choice is open, the choice is there

Be soft spoken or bold

Whatever you do don't go without

The best is from the giver I'm told

The layers of it are so intricate

Can't be seen with a telescope

Be careful when and where you use it

This crazy little thing called hope

Ha! Ha! Ron. Facebook can be a lot of fun and beneficial for building a fan base. I'll let you in on a little secret...it's not really a challenge...I could write a poem a day everyday...gladly! However, there's this crazy thing called paying bills which means I have to have a real job.

Never placed much faith in hope, but have given to charity. Wishing and hoping is like sitting and moping, but you did the friend's wish, well.

Sure glad I'm not on Facebook, cuz I hate challenge hell… Especially from so-called, "friends."

In the Whirlwind by Tichaona Chinyelu

In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!
