Holly Dolly breezed into the country scene straight out of the country herself.

Took the world by storm, putting a smile on everything she touched

Nothing was too big for her: Music, Hollywood, Philanthropy, and what else might be left

Everyone loved her; even when wives’ men’s eyeballs glanced at her assets like a wild elf

I even heard a story about an older man who met her face to face & went blind and deaf

She was a force of nature with her iconic blond hair & sweet southern voice of humble self

Dolly looked out for the people, not political party propaganda and games

Danced and sang to her own beat and no one could say she was lame

A true American icon and legend that stood out in the crowd

We all heard her clearly through the dark, and she was proud and loud

A champion for children, women, and those on the down beat

Even with all the rewards when she was on the stage, everyone was off their seat

Poor but full of dreams growing up in the Tennessee mountains

Spreading her charm to all when she made it big, and fans cried like fountains

Married to the quiet man for many years and was born one from a dozen

A big heart of gold, one you could be honored to call your cousin

Farewell legend and icon, and see you again in a while

80 seems too young; you gave us all you had and left us with a giant smile
