Fencing For Gold

Headed to the west coast to fence for some gold
An old wise soul from the east coast once told
Need some green gold for my lady back home
Need to pay back those sharks who gave me that loan
Some say the world revolves around paper not stones
As long as you put your heart first your greed will not be shown
So I booked a red eye flight and flew over the mountain domes
Landed in the state of California where Hollywood stars are known
Got the cold shoulder so went up north to the valley of silicone
Couldn’t get past the front gate so I called my friend in Frisco on the phone
Crashed with him until we got busted for stealing crystal diamond cones
Now I sit in jail where I sit in a small cell all by myself and all alone
And in my free time I still try to fence for some now, institutional gold
