Out by the river the children’s play
with corpses in scummy tide pools.
Some of the corpses lie motionless
on the river shore. Other floats quietly
in the breaking waves of tangled time.
Most are mutilated, throats slashed,
heads missing, a scattering pale forms
indistinguishable from one another
except for the ways in which they died.
A several foot away from the shore,
a woman killed with her baby, still
strapped to her back, floats among the reeds
through swampy grassland, out into the
vast stillness of the blood soaked homeland.
How evil it is, O Lord!
How amazing it is of the people
to kill their own brothers and sisters
and decapitate the roots of the human life.
and you said it all in your last line
"and decapitate the roots of the human life"

The world is allowed to rot under the sun but never fear the Lord knows of the evil and lies infesting this realm and he will keep his promises...This was so powerful of a poem and message.
I am left deflated and without words, Bhuwan. Your images are too well defined for me to not feel as though I stand there and witness for myself this devastation and lack of concern for human life.

This is very graphic, as any work with this content must be in order to get the message across. And children still try to be children, innocently playing alongside the horror. Very well written. God bless you.
