There he stands all alone -- leaning against the breeze with nothing left to do and nobody left to think about in the island of cadavers, with nobody beside except a heart broken into thousand pieces, and hope trodden by the miseries of destitute and war. He is the lone survivor of the civil war in his clan, all are gone, he is the only unlucky one left behind to sail his boat on the blood of his near and dear ones -- his father, his mother, his sisters, his brothers and all. Life is nowhere around him, and his faith did noisily grind itself with God. He has become, homeless, friendless, parentless, wifeless and childless. Ah! He has no one to weep for him, and not a single soul, to stop his flood of tears, and console his core.
The poem by Bhuban Thamaliya is a reminder of the sordid story of the consequence of a battle won in a pyrrhic fashion, leaving devastated the winner_expressed in words that move one's emotion in poetic manner. However, towards the end, the poetry seems to lose finesse of words for expressions of the aftermath, and thereby losing the steam of it. Still it can be called as 'nice' poetry.

ABSOLUTELY JAW-DROPPING... So succinct and right between the eyes, into the heart and piercing the guts. Yet not heavy... every word is weighed and imparts it's full amount of power without being overly loaded. A brilliant, heart-stopping piece, Bhuwan, that truly makes me APPRECIATE the meaning of what you're saying. The idea of him "leaning into the breeze" is so powerful. The spent-ness is tangible.
