HAVE YOU EVER REALIZED ?( Everybody Please Read This)

I am not against you bathing thrice a day nor I am against your way of living cause it is your life. Who am I to tell you how to live? You are free to live your life in your own way cause you are free and I respect your freedom of living. But before you do anything I would like you to think about the billions of unfortunate ones who are in need of our help. You might say drop of water is nothing in the parched land of misfortune but if we all amalgamate and drop water then that water will turn into the river and drown their misfortune. Anything is possible if we unite in the name of humanity and determine to help our fellow human beings. Because God is another name of help. He who helps is closer to the God. Let us unite and help according to our means to make this world a better place for all to live in peace and harmony.

Poem Artwork

You bath three times a day
To keep yourself vigorous
And swim in the pool of water
To keep yourself in good shape
But have you ever realized that
Billions of people have no access
To the clean drinking water
For their very endurance
And millions die each year
Due to the lack of drinking water

You eat more than you can digest
And hurl the surplus foods in the garbage
Citing it stale and insalubrious to health
And run a mile to shed your excess weight
But have you ever realized that
Millions die each year due to starvation
In this illusive world of conjectural equality,
Where billions survive on just one meal a day
Though they labor hard everyday in the field
Hoping to intercourse with the new beginning

You earn extravagant wealth
That is more than enough
Not only for you
But for your grand children to live on
Without laboring beneath the scorching Sun
And boast others, riding on the back of your wealth
But have you realized that
Half the world
Nearly three billion people lives
On less than two dollars a day

You raise the slogan of child labor
And resolve to end the child slavery
That is entangling the future of humanity
But have you ever realized that
Less than one percent
Of what the world spent
Every year on weapons of destruction
Was needed to put every child into school
And yet it didn't happen
Even after the dawn of the 21st century

You call yourself a savant
Because you know everything
And you have great access to knowledge
And judge people by their
Educational credentials
And not by their humanitarian preferences
But have you realized that
Nearly a billion people
Entered the 21st century
Unable to read a book or sign their names

You are free like the bird in the sky
And freedom is the light of your life
But have you realized that
Billions of people cannot imagine their own imagination
Nor can they appreciate their own freedom
But like the vagabond they ambles ever
In the course of adversity that ends never
For they are ravenous and their story is as dismal
As the heart wrecked by the tragic separation
Of hopeful hope from the canal of its optimism

I am in agreement with you. I have had my times of suffering but there was always hope and help within reach. Others have nothing but life and hardships while others have money/power and strive to increase their wealth...

We live in a broken world and I hope that the struggles will end with mankind proving its worth amidst the chaos and treachery that some involve themselves in.

Your message is loud and clear. A very thoughtful message a true one too. But not all have lived a luxuarious live as some do.
My father and mother picked cotton by hand in the fields. And we did without much in my live time. My father couldn't read or write but we survived and I have taught many a children to read and write in my life time because of the hardships in my own family. I have made less money for doing the things I love than working for more money for the things I want. So remember just because we live in America doesn't mean we are all rich for we are not. Except we are rich with the friendship of others like you Bhuwan a true and great friend of the world.

We are indeed fortunate to enjoy such abundance here in America. When we go to other countries, it is overwhelming to see the horrible poverty that masses of people are born into and remain, never being able to rise above it or flee from it. No shelter, no education, no medicine, no food and no hope of change! I think the first thing we can do here at home, as individuals, is to be aware and care! Yes, be aware, care and share! Rather than throw away or waste,...share! Care about the/your environment, care about people! Be informed about education and medical situations. As writers, you have a powerful tool of expression to inform ...after you have investigated! There are those who will put their heads in the sand as usual, yet others may search their hearts and conscience and decide if they will take a step in favor of humanity! Great, much needed write, Bhuwan, You are a noble soul!

you are a master in bringing harsh
current events to our attention,

Good write. There will never be enough to 'fill up' the needy that truly need. What we need to do is appeal to the regimes that run these contries and callously starve their people, both intellectually and physically, for no other reason than to assauge their need for power and love of the money they've raped their own countries for. It's time to place the blame where it belongs, with those regimes, so the rest of us can live in peace too. I am always amazed at the scores of people willing to live under these conditions, without lifting a hand to help themselves.

Bhuwan, this is brilliant. You are so right with every word you say. So many people are so rich and don't appreciate it all, forgetting about all the persons on this wide worls who hardly survive the day.
Excellent write.

Powerful and gut wrenching! Gives pause to the importance some people place on personal status and wealth. We should take this to heart and see how others are in need and feel fortunate if we make a decent living without the emphasis on "money". Excellent!

Hi Bhuwan,
First of all I would like
to applaud you on this outstanding write...

Oh so true... many of us
take life for granted...

Oh how we complain, if we
are having a bad hair day.
Oh the weather is too hot
or cold...
So many tidious things we complain about...

Many of us don't appreciate
what we do have in life...
Each and everyday we should
give our thanks...

It could of very well been
us living that devastaing
life...

Yes,I agree with most of this,it would be wonderful if the money spent on weapons and war was spent building rivers through pipelines (I did a poem on it once) taking water to anywhere at all so none were thirsty.
No one should starve there is just no excuse in this world of plenty.
We all agree ....but not much changes,I guess
we are not hungry enough to make the change nor thirsty enough to dig the rivers for others who can't.

I hope I can change more,that is where it starts,if only .
Great poem excellent thoughts...well done!
