Caught in a Rip by Ch'erie Caught in a rip with an incoming tide tossed about like a lost buoy upon a sea of fierce indiscretion Foaming and frothing waves lapping all around finding their way into lungs that were happy to be drowned Fight or flight responses lulled by an influx of warm salty water on it's way to the stable shoreline but, all in good time! Rolling gently amid the caressing waves head o'er heels, without direction only sense of up is the flow of bubbles When the submerged is ready to surface! Great descriptive writing, really makes the reader feel the tossing and bobbing and weaving of water. Well-written.

Got caught in a rip off of Playa del Carmen - happily splashing about in the ocean, all of a sudden, I'm being taken out to sea - my girlfriend's like, "Where are you going?!?!" I told her I'd be back - started swimming parallel to the beach, got out of the rip and decided that was enough playing in the water - don't panic, is the only advice I can give, that, and swim parallel to the beach - you'll get out eventually. =] Excellent write, Chazza.

This one brought on a sad memory for some areas of Nova Scotia like Australia are noted for it's often dangerous rip tides. I lost a friend of mine who was scuba diving to one when I was only a teenager and his body was never recovered. great write Cherry Pie.
