"I Wrote" tells the story of one of the ways I survived my sons'deaths and kept my sanity. Most of my poetry eventually turned into a memoir, in poetry form, now in the hands of a publisher, titled
The Meter of My Life

I WROTE

When they said my sons would die,

I did not rant, I did not cry,

I wrote.

If there was no one to tell,

I did not moan, I did not yell,

I just wrote.

Times I thought I could not cope,

I grasped my pen, I gathered hope,

And I wrote some more.

I cannot explain it now,

But it healed my soul somehow,

When I wrote.

And I know it's been worthwhile.

Since poetry brought back my smile.

As I wrote.

Now I'm writing more and more,

I cannot stop, I can't keep score.

I just write.

And I must keep on writing; it's the reason I'm still sane

Boy do I ever relate to this Rosalie...I had not ever written
a word until I lost my son..and then it seemed my soul just
opened up and I wrote a 40 page memorial for him..mostly of my
sorrow and grief..and my family wondered at how I could possibly
do this...well I had to do it...it just happened and it truly
frightened me at first...my fingers moved automatically and I
never gave it a thought but words just appeared on the paper..
and so I wrote and so I write today....we do have a lot in common.
I hope to read more of you when time allows...take care..floria
