I feel wonderful—
a strange sense of contentment
slipping my arms into this
Sappanwood coloured jacket.
I feel a deep sense of satisfaction
just walking down the busy street,
everyone is working hard to feed
the family and clothe the children.
Some guardian angel is weaving a bold
new Indian life in rich red colours,
stars twinkle now above Himachal Pradesh.
I'm a blue-eyed man in vat-dyed
indigo clothing feeling sheep wool
against the skin, embracing natural dyes.
Lakshmi’s four elephants wait outside
the haveli, connecting me to the universe,
Namaste!
