SUNSHINE

This was actually a writing prompt that I did awhile ago to describe a hot day without using the words sun, hot, warm, steam, sweaty or humid. It has been so humid lately that I thought I would share.
A yellow ball of fire Wrapping my entire body in heat Skin aflame Salty moisture seeping from my pores Running into my eyes Burning Ice So cool to the touch A chill runs through my system From my fingertips To the the top of my head Back down to the tips of my toes I rub a cube slowly across my forehead Absorbing all of its coolness I place another on my tongue Drinking in the shivery liquid Allowing it to trickle down the side of my mouth Onto my chest Mixing with my body fluids and oils Then I am dry Again A yellow ball of fire Wrapping my entire body in heat Skin aflame Salty moisture seeping from my pores Running into my eyes Burning
