Thoughts on Love

Love is just an illusion.

Its colors are soft and warm.

When you think you can reach out

and grasp it,

It moves out of reach and is gone!

Love is not something to hold.

It is only a star that you seek.

Dark is the night,

Bright is the star,

that falls and breaks at your feet.

You can try to pick up the pieces

But they'll cut as slivers of glass.

The pain pierces deep into the heart.

Again, love is outside the grasp!

All too often love cuts like a knife but the more I think of it, the more I realize it really wasn't love, maybe it was just lust. We as humans seem to get those both mixed up. A great write Dayvid, please keep up your writing and we'll keep on reading.

I can feel the energy in this poem, such wisdom on such an emotional subject...Nicely done.

Welcome to the Den, I shall look forward to reading your work.

Peace, love, and light,

I can truly appreciate your philosophical outlook on love, Dayvid; and I find myself completely agreeing with you. In fact I think I just cut myself on sliver of love. A very effective poem in my humble estimation. Thank you for sharing it. Love and peace,

Regis
