Under God’s Watchful Eye All creation groaning. The earth violently raped. Angels dancing on a pin head, and trying to escape. Rivers bloody, children playing. Dead bodies lying on the ground. Dead angels dancing on a pin head, eyes closed and falling down. All creation groaning, under God’s watchful eye. Humans trying to be God, planning not to die. Out of the bloody river rises a frightened little girl. A hole in each hand, with thorns in her hair. She’s a light to the world. She’s a light to the world. She’s just a candle in the dark. Look at the candle in the dark. Madison Avenue falls at her feet. In Amsterdam she lays on her back. Wall Street shudders and trembles. And she’s shot in the head in Iraq. Out of the bloody river rises a frightened little girl. All creation groaning. She is a light unto the world. How long will we pillage and plunder? Must we keep killing the earth? Do you see the little One? Will she bear to us new birth? Dayvid Graybill © 2005

I think Under God's Watchful Eye is the 1,000 year cycle like the Inuits, the Eskimos believe, When asked how many polar bears are left in existence by the scientists, spending millions of dollars on studies, when they ask the Indian Eskimos for a count "How many are there?" the Inuits reply, "we have no count, we just know, it's the 1,000 year cycle." I truly believe this. I think the greenhouse effect, the polar ice caps melting, the murders of the innocent, the Bible wars, political wars, corrupt religion and politics is cyclical. When we're close to that number of years like we are now, there is turmoil, but it will eventually cycle like the Ouroboros, life, death, rebirth...it's a neverending cycle...this is a deep-thinker's poem, Dayvid...History repeats itself.
