Unholy Angels

Bearing the pain like a glacier cutting

Across the surface of the earth

She never took her eyes from his face

And oh how she wanted to cry!

Oh how she wanted to cry!

Two little boys at attention by her side

Watching the truck drive away

Unholy angels, invisible wind, cold

Gathered them in their arms

And she tried hard not to cry!

Nothing, nothing, not a thing

Like the hot sands of the Sahara now

She had nothing, nothing to give

And he took what he wanted

And Oh! How she wanted to cry out

and scream in his goddamned face!

As she held her knife in her hand,

Something, she had to feel something,

The cut was long and deep on her arm

And she watched the blood flow from his face

A tear rolled down, she felt it on her cheek

And she cried as his spirit fled with the wind

A single unholy angel whispered in her ear

“Cry my sweet love, cry, my sweet love”

“Cry my sweet love, cry, cry, cry,”

“Cry my sweet love, cry, my sweet love”

“Cry my sweet love, cry, cry, cry.”

Cry, cry, cry, cry, cry, cry, cry…

Two little boys ran into the night.

Away from pain

Straight into the pain

tears are so renewing to the spirit
to let go & release
harbors prision though creates self inflictions to damnations
but we all self inflict in many ways with over indulgence(s)
some through promiscuity, drugs, alcohol, gambling, violence...and here with knives release
it works though...even still
unhealthy self medications is what they are
and your poem...is very deep
the wounds & the battle scars too

Self-inflicted wound to feel the pain of healing...there has to be feeling of this magnitude before we can correct the problem and turn away the pain...emotions play hard here in Unholy Angels...predator and prey in life, we have to decide early on that we can cry and tears are our friends in the end, Dayvid...love this...

Love,
Sage
