I sometimes try to write stories conveying specific feelings or emotions.
Dry River Road She said he went down to Dry River Road Lookin for something to do It’s a long road And work is scarce And the money is too. Standing in the doorway And nervous as hell She didn’t quite know how to proceed I held out my hand With a hundred dollar bill She took it and I turned to leave She said he went down to Dry River Road Lookin for something to do It’s a long road And work is scarce And the money is too. I remembered back a few years ago When she was laying by my side Breathing hard and weak from passion Love is not something to hide. She said he went down to Dry River Road Lookin for nothing to do I turned and gazed At her standing there She was the best girl I knew. How long is that road? Is he ever coming back? She smiled and she placed A kiss on my neck. I remember that day, one year ago I’m lucky he never came back. She said he went down to Dry River Road Lookin for someone to do. © 2005 Dayvid Graybill

Timing is everything--you must have been in the right place and time when all this began--you win. A very nice poetic story; it has much character and intrigue. What a dummy he was to wander off looking for someone to do! Thanks for sharing, Dayvid.

I can see it all play out on screen...Dry River Road sounds like the name of a TV series drama, Dayvid...you have a knack for storytelling, conveying to your readers these feelings and emotions. Good work!
