Pleasing the King
Like a cloud, heavy in the sky
Her laughter hung hard
as the conversation in the room.
Darkness was closing in
on the girl in the short white dress
leaning on the shoulder of the king.
It pleased the king
It pleased the king
that she killed only those she loved
Like fire, splitting the sky,
Her eyes flashed brightly
at the smiles of the men by the wall.
Darkness was closing in
on a blood-soaked white dress
the shoulder of the king was leaning
It pleased the king
It pleased the king
that she killed only those she loved
Like a rose, formed of marble
Her cold, red lips,
brought delight to the men by the wall.
Darkness was closing in
on the girl in the short white dress
standing next to the king.
It pleased the king
It pleased the king
that she killed only those she loved.
Oh how she loved the king.

This poem is deeply haunting..This king, does he deserve her love?
