Meaningless Splatter

Crucified and dead

Wide blank spaces

On white open paper

Words no longer spring

Forward with meaning

Silver pen has fallen

Into the wooden crack

And darkness under the floor

Splattering ink-filled meaningless

Words onto dirt of an inaccessible cellar

Someone must have danced quite well to have gotten so fine a head on a splatter... meaningless, indeed!

I wish you wouldn't talk about my poetry that way. Hurts my self esteem. At least you can find your pen, the dog keeps stealing mine for new chew toys. People at the dog park stop me and see her black tongue and say does it have Malmute in it? Patrick

I go through this every other week! I can't make the words come out they come out when they are ready! Usually in the middle of the night or early morning. I have a note pad with me everywhere I go so I can write down a thought that creeps in at an unusul spot. Do something else for awhile and those thoughts will return when least expected. By the way this a great poem! Love, and peace! ~Chessly

How does a poem form? hmm. An idea? something or someone we've seen?
This looks like an instant poem to me. you know, one of those moments when you simply have to get the laptop on as fast as possible before its lost>? I would not worry thou poet. Once a poet-always a poet!!!
Good pen.

Ha, look who popped in! It's good to see you Pastor! When all else fails in the cellar, go for the wine and you and the Mrs. try out her new skirt...ink is overrated. A very Menno Christmas to you, Dayvid...be well.

Love and Mad Dog 20/20 gift wrapped from my cellar to yours,
Sage

I agree with Regis. Feel like this now actually. Just takes time to reload I guess, let the synapses start firing. Hope you're well.

Sounds like "writer's block" to me but also evokes many other possibilities. Thank you for sharing, Dayvid. Love and peace to you,
