Eve and God
Jobe rose up and tore his clothes
Shaved his head and crossed his eyes
Satan smiled and grinned again
Blew his nose and said good-bye.
God calls upon heaven’s court
Bolt of lightning split dark sky
Around the floating board room
Michael rose and gave a cry.
No one moved except the Snake
Wrapped around Eve’s naked breast
Apple fell upon the floor
Wind blew hard from the west.
God stood up and winked at Eve
She walked out the open door
Satan followed close behind
Thunder rolled from shore to shore.
Jobe saw Eve across the clouds
Satan moved fast from behind
Jealous Adam came in third
Pretty Eve, a precious find.
God gave watch to all in line
Men gave in to their desire
Giants born upon the earth
Enticed by Eve’s passion fire.
Prayed the Lord her soul to keep
She lay sleeping in the night
Dreaming of her mighty men
In their dreams they hold her tight.
God reached out and Jobe came back
Satan’s fiery passion died
Adam had to look for work
God loved Eve. She was his pride.
*Jobe is of course a reference to the biblical Job.
