You and Elk

Coalmines gaping empty

Turn right at Weston

North toward twin peaks.

Thirty-seven elk grazing

Woodstove stoked hot

Yellow flames dance high

Scotch poured freely

Won’t you spend the night?

Snow-covered points

Ridges above tree line

Clear blue morning

Hot coffee on the deck.

Ah, so inviting, Dayvid. It's how I feel when I turn at Twin Lakes and start up over Independence Pass to Aspen where I've seen elk many times coming down from Leadville. Be well. Blessed Be.
