Iridescent

Fear is an inarticulation of spirit.
Feeling…

Then why am I so afraid of you?
The constant rising of my throat.
Chide me not for loving you,
But for fearing you,
Even when you can no longer hurt me.
To me, you are nothing.

Iridescent.

Touching something you did not own.
Losing my trust and violating me.
You are a scratch in my mind.

Images burned into my stream of consciousness.
Even with my eyes closed, I can’t get away.
Shutting out the world.
Hesitant to get close to anyone,
Recoiling…fearing touch.

I'll never forget the shaking or the sting of shame.
Cringing and screaming.
The pressure of being held still,
Against my will.
It haunts me,
I hope you know that.

The feeling of hopelessness and anger,
Never clean.
No amount of water can wash that dirt away,
You've scarred me forever.

I never loved you, I hated you.
And I hate you still.
For doing what you did, ruining me.
Your friend,

Iridescent.

You know I do understand and Jerry is right too to not give him the satisfaction.

I guess I can understand the thoughts behind the poem. Well, no, I guess I can't. To a point, at least, maybe. I, however, would never have given him the satisfaction of knowing how deeply he hurt you, if in fact this is real and not imagined. I would have just spit in his face with words and let him know even THAT couldn't do to me what you say it has done to you. Never would I have given the bastard that satisfaction. Okay. I'll hush.

You Look FatCalgary by RickthePoetWarrior

Using Calgary as a backdrop the author satirizes the self-serving nature of the public as it continues to fatten itself, not only physically, but egotistically as well.
