Speak quietly so they cannot hear.
Come closer so they cannot see…
Step lively before I turn to leave,
Confide your secret testament and will to me…
The blade catches and it scores within my skin,
Vying for more.
The metal is cold and the rope, it stings,
As it rubs the flesh raw.
Is it the bitterness that scares you into silence?
Stranger to the sound…
A taste of the sacrificial wine as it pours,
From my mouth…
There’s enough unanswered questions hanging in the balance,
To harbor any doubt.
Whether the moon is full and going to shine down,
On the alter, in which, I die tonight.
Take this…
If it’s easier to swallow.
You can look but don’t you follow,
Down that dark and treacherous path.
And the ones who have betrayed us,
Martyred and maimed us,
Are the loudest ones praying at our door.
It’s the deadly fall the angels take,
To pay for your sins.
It’s the unrelenting game of chicken,
In which, no one wins.
Believe this…
If it’s easier to handle.
Revert and turn your back on,
Extinguish the flame of the candle.
