I would do anything to dispel my youth,
Only to gain it back again.
Childish innocence on a feather,
Drifting farther and farther away from you…
The more you reach,
The higher it goes.
And no matter how hard you try,
It’s never coming back…
Its comfort and reassurance are gone.
Its warmth and its softness are withering away,
Reduced to nothing but a speck in the sky…
Each passing hour loses its meaning to the world.
Each missed hour, someone remembers you less and less.
A single feather for each hope that was led astray,
Together, makes a beautiful pair of wings for you to fly away.
This one so reminds me of my days when I had just stepped into being a rebelling teenage, my folks (especially my grand aunt) always said to me, "Oh now you've got your feather and your wings, so you think you can fly?"
She said this everytime whenever I made her mad. This poem reminds me of that saying so much!
Thank you so much for the memory. This write is truly amazing.
