The Final Silence

Work up that courage that isolation brings,
With it comes the unwelcome solitude of added fear.
The higher you climb, the further you fall into the darkness.
Searing with pain as you land at the beginning again.

You must start all over…

Somewhere, the dull ache subsides,
And for one glittering moment, you’re victorious!
Invincible…and nothing can stop you now.
Even this deep well of silence.

But the weakness grabs you with its icy hands around your throat,
And holds you like a vice until the pain renews itself.
This time, burning and stinging with depravity.

You can’t breathe anymore…

Screaming with despair that’s cut short from the air,
That you are so desperately trying to reach.
The only thing you see is your shadow.
And even he can’t hear you speak…

But he mirrors your dance of agony on the floor.

In the end, it all is a struggle,
A fight…
A recital
To scale that merciless height,
To maybe see the light of another day.

But be still…
And look now,
The shadow moves no more…
And his keeper does the one thing the shadow cannot.
She cries, and her tears slip away,
To the floor…
Like she did in the silence, in the well which she stayed.

Say Something Terrorible v3 by RickthePoetWarrior

My mom says ‘If you can’t say anything nice then don’t say anything’. Sorry mom but under the guise of poetic license I penned these beauties.

Sunrise of Thought by Bruce Humphrey

Welcome! The poems in this beautifully bound book are a result of over twenty years of observations. Observations of the world around us and on the telecommunications network. All of the hate, love, heroism, disasters, and those who help. Beautif
