The Widow and The Rose

The last time I saw you,
My love, was upon a murder of crows.
To come home to me on a cold, dark night.
A thousand moments...
If only collected in my sad and neglected mind.

Just let your hips lead the walk,
And you’ve got any man begging on his knees
It doesn’t matter if he’s been recording late at Abby Road.
He still succumbs to the midnight tease.

Here we stand,
The widow and the rose.

In the glow of a bathroom mirror,
The steam rises between us.
Come up behind me and lean your head so far into my back,
That I can’t see your face anymore.
And with every hard breath, all you smell is me.

Hook your finger in my jeans and bring yourself closer to me,
Saying that you can tell so much of what I’m thinking.
And when I try to open my mouth to speak,
Your tongue is already there to steal the words from me.

Close my eyes and pray to God this is it,
Love in its lethal dose.
Left a fiend for another hit
That’s the way we were done in.

Together at hand,
The widow and the rose.

Mariah - I'm not much into dark poetry. Howsomeever, in this one, you master the breach between the two of us. These words are exquisite, and the scene moves with the heat in changing loneliness to company aplenty! Good stuff ! ! !

The widow and the rose, the lonely and the inviting,
the weakness in succumbing is all the more exciting.
Love the honesty in this. Pierre.

Stark erotic images with the wanting and craving for the love that is sublimely offered. The lines and word phrases capture the scene and the characters so well it is like I am watching you both.

This may sound cliche but this is very poetic! I mean it swayed in slow motion as I read it. Powerful stuff!

This has Dylan written all over it and yet it is written by my own daughter. This one is a winner.
