A blink of an eye and the crime occurred.
It was the perfect timing for disaster.
One lied to spill the blood of the other,
And the truth just came flowing after.
The silence would be the messenger tonight.
Near the entrance,
She shivered in the light…
In a slow and frozen instance,
He could tell from her eyes that she wasn’t right.
More than one victim lay cold in the snow.
A pretty face, empty, as whispering words fell from her lips.
The wind seemed to be devouring her ever-thinning sense,
Disenchantment of the scene lifted as those delicate fingers slid from his,
And her frost-bitten body slackened against the fence.
