For my own old friend, should he ever read this...I miss you Nic.
What happened to us?
My old friend...
Life got in the way.
Filled with invisible strings,
controlled by the master of puppets.
Have we gotten too old for our imagination?
A world of child-like humor and endless hopes.
I think that boy still exists.
Do you still believe in pirates and buried treasure?
My old friend...
Or have you forgotten those sunburned days?
Has the magic of windy nights in a hammock under a blanket of stars ceased to be?
In a world that I once knew.
All things were too easy then.
These memories are the ties that bind us together.
What will become of us in the end?
My old friend...

BUT I bet there is a treasure to be found somewhere. Just give him the map.... and don't forget the shovel. This was sad and a nice thing to write. I can smell the passion in this.
