This is the experience of my first time on a stage, over 12 years ago.

The stage empty.
The lights shining, burning your eyes.
People waiting...
Growing tiresome,
Whispering.
Your face, red and hot with embarassment.
Your body...quivering, shaking, and anxious.
Your hands, sweating and trembling in fear.
Your mind racing...void of coherent thought.
You open your mouth to speak,
But the words are masked by the harshness of breath.
And the rapid beating of your heart.
Just a dream...you pray,
Just a dream.
You feel light-headed, dizzy...
The floor, shifting under your feet.
The tears are stinging your eyes.
Taunting you...
Not now...Not yet.
Your mind drifts away.
Underwear.
Imagine them in underwear.
Your mind returning.
The people applaude.
lol Forgive me if I laugh. For I have to believe there are those out there I wouldn't want to even imagine in underwear. It would surely do worse damage than stage fright! Great write! Lisa
