A piece I wrote years ago when my grandaddy died...
I know you're watching me.
You're everywhere around me.
I cried so much for you,
Why couldn't you stay?
Everything has changed so much
But I know I'll be okay...
When I get there, you'll walk with me.
When I get there, I'll be home.
When I get there, you'll see what I've come to be.
When I get there, you'll know
Everything changed when you left.
Everyone is different...
I was disowned,
And I'm still holding on to the past.
When I get there, you'll comfort me.
When I get there...I'll cry.
When I get there, I'll be wild and free.
When I get there...I'll fly.
I've waited patiently,
And I've been so good.
You've been waiting for me,
Like I knew you would.
Only then will I rest in peace,
Floating in the air...
Granddaddy is still loved for all the power he gave to his surroundings and for all the love he birthed while here with us. His power knows no death. He lives on in me, you and all the others. look deep enough and you'll see him in Mason's smile and Bryce's eyes, in your talent for art and in the love he gave when you speak his name and so many smile pleasantly recalling this great artist and human. He is remembered immortal.
Very much sad, but then again it's a peaceful write. Like the write that finally let the soul of the writer/character at peace with the passing. Nice write.
Perhaps "..Quiet Storm" will help rekindle old flames buried and long forgotten or express the love so deeply locked inside of your soul longing to be released.
Regardless of where you may be found in love this beautiful masterpiece can be
