A face, with its innocense rubbed raw,
Then washed away.
Experience has aged him before his years,
But time says he’s not much older than I.

As he pulled, I was salvaged from the water.
Thin rain, feeling like ice as it licked our cheeks.
Chilling them pink on pale pallets.

Then He.
With a moment...
Warming me with a deep and darkened eye.
Brought peace and certain safety,
As we float on this tumultuous sea.

I, upon his neck, lay resting.
Not a movement bolder.
For the next touch is his, reserved within my palm.
And with a murmuring breath,
His voice mingles in words only coherent to him and me.

My conscious jolts and lures me to open my eyes to stinging reality.
But alas, it could not steal the lingering taste of his lips.
And I lay patiently for the night,
With the Sandman and his braved thievery.

For He waits in a world where love and existence are not idle.
I’ll kiss him as the waking world fades into shades of glorious imagination.
Je’aimé Dominic.

If only in my dreams...

hey Honey,

Great verse here Mariah. Alittle of the Titanic mixed with romance and dreams. Your writing has matured and your passions have become acute. Like all of our family you've learned to convey them well.

See you soon!

Love,
mom
