I need a pair of shoes that fit That fit me like a glove A pair thats soft as cotton That I won't let go of I want a pair of shoes that float So I can walk on air I want a left, I want a right Yeah, I'd prefer a pair I want these shoes to take me To a place so far away A place thats smooth and mellow Somewhere I'd like to stay I'd like a pair of dancing shoes So I'd swirl like a pro The Lady of the dance floor Who likes it smooth and slow I'd like a pair of hiking shoes So I could scale those stones And be King of the mountain And wave to those below And artic boots so toasty I'd never feel the frost Who'd guide me thru a blizzard And never get me lost I'd love a pair of slippers With doubled threaded seams Who'd take me places in the night Where shoes would follow dreams PAX A 3/28/06

I love this Anita! It's a poem that makes happy feet....much better than "cruel shoes." Good job!

I was going to comment that if the shoes don't fit, they aren't your shoes, but that was before I read your great poem, Anita. Now I am left with only awe and no witty comments. Excellent job on this. You really should submit it to Highlights, Weekly Reader or Junior Scholastic. Kids really deserve to read this gem.
Take care,
Sherry
Wonderful poetic footsteps here, Anita, that tripsy along just swell... especially after an hour at the gym! :)) Totally especially adore that last stanza and those double-threaded seams... gotta get me some of thooooooooooooooooooooooose.... Tread softly cos you....Deserves a poem in itself. I did a poem called Feet Smell once... about going barefoot... Like this shoe fetish lots TY Kate xx
'These boots are made for walking, and that's just what they'll do, one of these days...ahem!' Mind drifted, where was I?
I knew a guy who had shoes for every occasion - took three pairs on holiday: one pair for walking along the beach, another for walking along the cliff tops, and another for walking the streets. That's not all. He also took two pairs of gloves: ones for driving with, and the others for routine wear. He also filed all his days' activities in an A - Z folder...I still drift - ramble some would say.
Turn it in Dai.
What a creative and lighthearted write my dear friend...enjoyed this much. I have a friend who is addicted to shoes, no joke she has more shoes than anyone I know! Can't wait to show her this, she will love it too! Love your write and creative graphics!
