I loved words. I love to sing them and speak them and even now, I must admit, I have fallen into the joy of writing them.
Anne Rice

Tap, Tap, Tap

The words that halt upon my lips
Tumble towards my fingertips
On the syntax, cued by sound
Speaking for the eyes as found

Tap, tap, tap

I type away
Phrasing thoughts I'd never say
Yet once the words are on the page
They outlive speech and ever age

Tap Tap Tap

If I had said these words aloud
Such might is lessoned, by the sound
Once said, the next gives chase to old
But in the ink......is constance.....told

Tap, Tap, Tap

Glad I tapped in. The way you handle words is well worth the read.

The form is very striking... (striking your keyboard?)
I have enjoyed your interpretation of this process in writing.

What a great rhythm this has! I must admit that the title did make me think of the tap-taps (buses) in Haiti and I just had to read it...
:~) Although it wasn't about my Haiti, I enjoyed the read immensely!

Excellant Anita, I too wonder how I can write something that I know I would never use in context even thought I might feel it. I think that is part of the beauty of poetry for me, to be able to say what you want, not what you think people expect.

Lady A,
It's nice to see you. Words are an addiction of mine too and I spend countless hours tapping away at the keyboard or getting hand cramps, writing by pen.
Take care,
Jill

This one (your poem) sets my thoughts tingling. Sound-words with the Tap...Tap...Tap got my attention, and each stanza didn't disappoint. Wise and wondrous words, Pax.
Totally enjoyed ~~ Micke

click, click, click...
my mouse eats words both thin and thick
urged on by my right fingertips
I read the poems I'd never buy
--some that'll live, and some that'll die...

Click, click, click
a few more eaten by my HP mouse
--the only little rodent
I'm not scared of in my house
I can hold it by the hours
when I'd otherwise scream!
and this mouse is more substance
than my fuzzy horror dreams.

Click, click, click...
If it wasn't for the clock
then I'd never quit! --clicking my mouse away, and reading your taps. --Charlie
