Poem Artwork

There were taste tests
In the screening lines,
At airports around the globe.
I assume that included breast milk,
But I hope nobody had to disrobe.

It seems that the terrorists,
Are touting their new liquid bombs.
These guys are always on the cutting edge,
When it comes to anxiety and alarm.

Next it will be a liquid dirty bomb,
Made of water from the
Nile,
Will these idiots stop at nothing,
As they spread treachery laced with guile?

I have always thought that countries,
Were populated by folks with similar beliefs,
But that would make the Middle East one nation,
And I’m afraid that renders no relief.

But I’ll not sit here nervous and fretting,
Or worry about what I’m forgetting,
As it’s probably just another beheading,
By some hooded fool carrying a machete.

We are told to emphasize similarities,
Of those who might be our enemies,
But I admit I’m lost on the disparities,
And anything similar would be a rarity.

So let’s forget about political correctness,
And understand we’re not each other’s fans,
Then as soon as we’ve dispensed with the formalities,
We’ll be free to get it on in the sand.

Spot on, spot on, spot ON! Frank: this is fantastic, as Eileen says. There is an enemy hiding in plain site and stalking us from clear blue skies. We need to be prepared and ever on alert. They don't care about us; they would kill us in our sleep. They celebrate by dancing in the streets when an infidel is killed, in God's name. Shame--an excellent write, thank you.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
