Poem Artwork

There shouldn’t be the practice

Of what is good

With any thought of the fame

Which it will bring,

Nor of what is evil

With any drawing

Near to the punishment

Which it will incur.

An accordance with the marrow

And pith of our nature

Is the regular course

To cherish the body,

To purify the soul,

To nourish our parents,

To bring up children,

To maintain the life and

To complete our term of years

To the last gasp.

If we all would strive to live life without thinking of good or evil, it probably would be a better place, but much less interesting.
