The tea ceremony is a magic means:

Putting it into regular practice,

You observe the basic principles

Of Earth and Heaven, Wood, Fire

And Water. It is as if you are telling

Your esteemed guest that he or she

Is about to set off on a trip

To a place over the sky line

And which is really idyllic: lofty trees,

Colourful birds, bubbled springs,

Powerful waterfalls and streams,

And beautiful landscapes indeed.

By servicing with your tea, you thus

As though tell your guest: "Go there!

You have not gotten there yet,

But you are not far away, dear friend.

If you just keep on going,

You will definitely reach your point."

This is how the ritual works

If your tea is to your guest's taste, of course.

Hello once again. Just in time for the Tea Ceremony. It's amazing what the idea (and taste) of tea can generate. It is as old as tea leaves and as wondrous as nature can produce. What a taste this tea poem has, steeped in the mind for years. John

Whether it's coffee, tea or me, it's always wonderful, if not always as exotic as you describe, to have friends over for a little time out from the drudgery of everyday life.
