Poem Artwork

When I used to be reduced

To great distress, I sat alone,

Leaning with my back on a trunk

Of a lofty tree and singing all the while

The song (The End) of the legendary band

(The Doors) which will never be shut down or locked.

I used to have my instrument,

But the notes were not marked on it;

There was a noise, but no blended melody.

The sound of the wood and my husky voice

Came together like the noise of the plough

Through the ground, yet suitably to the feelings

Of the birds and beasts and elves and spirits around.

The link of music, nature and the deep well inside is most appropriate. An interesting and touching poem, emotive and full of feeling. A winner. John

Evocative. Wood, plow and ground, a tinge of sadness, but much more of reconfiguring. In all, lovely.

The Doors! One of my very favorite bands . . . Morrison was traveling on the other side. If your singing voice was pleasurable to the "birds and beasts and elves and spirits," that is all you really need.

Nature won't let us down. I'm sure that "your sound" was cool. You have good taste in music, btw.

Love ya!

Jane
