If words were sufficient
For any purpose we pursue,
In a day time we might surely
Exhaust them all;
Since they are not sufficient
For any purpose we pursue,
We may speak all day long
And only exhaust the talk.
The course of action is extreme
To which things conduct us but
Never otherwise. Thus,
Neither speech nor silence is sufficient
To convey the notion of it.
Neither by speech nor by silence
Can our thoughts about it
Have their highest expressiveness.
One kind word can change someone's entire day. Words are seeds that do much more than blow around. They land in our hearts and not the ground. Be careful what you plant, and be careful what you say. You might have to eat what you planted one day. I know these things to be incontrovertibly true (personally). It is indeed a perpetual process. Good thoughts, Alexander, well written. Peace... r
Actions speak louder than words is of course a truism, but still, true enough. You have said it rightly in this poem. Words burst like balloons in the wind. Actions leave something behind.
