Understand the foreign businessmen
With a foreign culture, especially one
So different from ours, is usually not
For the common folks but for the sages.
For this work there is need for broad
And brotherly feeling, for the feeling
Of the common bond of humanity
And the cheer of good fellowship.
We must feel with the pulse of the heart
As well as see with the eyes of the mind.
There must be a certain detachment from
Ourselves and our subconscious notions.
From the deeply imbedded notions of childhood
And the equally tyrannous ideas of adult days,
From those big words with capital letters like 'S'
Of success, and 'P' of prosperity, and 'D' of dividends
We learn how to joint in a mutually rewarding venture.
This wrapped around what I know of many of my business owners relatives in Finland. Detachment in that no one should give up his or her heartfelt beliefs. 'Enjoyed.
One thing that we have in common is our general human nature and wanting to make our lives and those of our families better than they are.
I do find the practice of some types of foreign business quite appalling. For example, Chinese herbal medicine based on mythical assumptions that grinding up the strength of wild animals and then consuming it, results in gaining that strength, whether it be mental, physical or sexual. False assumptions like this are rapidly bringing on the extinction of species worldwide.
The love of Americans for exotic materials from other parts of the globe has resulted in tremendous misery for people living in the regions where Americans seek to get the rare materials from at the lowest cost possible. Sushi anyone?
Doing business with foreigners is a learned game and technique. We need to learn about their cultures as well as their business habits to form an opinion of what works what doesn't. Not everyone can learn the foreigners' business habits and cultures, only individuals who have been born to learn of such. The POTUS is one who knows the foreign business inside and out because he learned since he was young.
