Yeah, I know - it ain't really a poem! No Rhyme - would it qualify as Free Verse? I DUNNO! But it was done in Form - as Verses - with a Theme. DON'T SHOOT THE MESSENGER! OKAY?

WHAT IF ? © - 4-08 - TOM HYLAND What If - Corporations were NOT Greedy? And Paid their Fair Share of Taxes - And Stopped Gouging the Public - And Produced Alternate Energy - What If? Bush and Cheney were Impeached - By our DO NOTHING Congress? And the Infamous Five-Thirty-Five - Picked up Oars - and Stopped Rocking the Boat? What If - Our Beloved Troops were Brought Home? And the Veterans Administration Did Its JOB? And Parades were Held in Every Town - Celebrating - HONOR and DEVOTION - What If? And our Mexican Border was Secured? And Illegal Aliens were Deported? And All Expired Green Cards, Including Islamo-Fascists - Waved Good-Bye? What if - Huge Manufacturing Plants were Opened - To Produce Solar Energy Panels, and Wind-Mills - And All the Necessary Components to Complete Them? Blue-Collar JOBS would Result - What If? All Auto Manufacturers Started Mass-Producing Electric and Hybrid Cars? And CHEAPLY! What If - they Collaborated, Instead of Competed? United We Stand - Divided We Fall! What If - All Despicable Puppy Mills were Closed Down? And Loving American Families Adopted Orphan Critters? And Government, at All Levels, Strove for Truth - And Honesty - and Dignity - and Justice - What If? What If - Pharmaceutical Companies Actually Cared - To Find Cures - and Not Just Treat Symptoms? Diabetes - Cancer - Obesity - Heart Attack - Strokes - ALL CURED - ELIMINATED - What If? Insurance Companies Became HONEST? Stopped Delaying Tactics for Settlements - Paid Claims - Up Front - Fast - and Fairly! Is It Due? Is It Right? Then, PAY IT! What If - Especially for Our Senior Citizens? SCRAP the Entire Medicare-Medicaid B-S! A Unified, Fair National Health Program IS POSSIBLE - JUST DO IT! What If? How About If the Stinking, Filthy Rich - ACTUALLY PAID THEIR FAIR SHARE? Developed a Real Conscience, and Helped Row The Boat? ELIMINATE ALL TAX LOOP-HOLES! * YEAH, I KNOW - NOT HARDLY * BUT - WHAT IF? THEY CHOSE TO BE REAL AMERICANS! WHAT IF? The Pledge of Allegiance To The United States of America Was Actually Taken to Heart? One Nation - Under God - Indivisible - With Liberty and Justice For ALL!

What If...Shoud Be! Your final stanza says it all, Tom. We have strayed too far from our Constitution, and Preamble! Sonuvagun greedy, and corrupt politicos...that WE, the voter, can't control.
