Debates before Voting on H.R.1 & Sen. Bills -
What a Total FARCE!
Waste of Time & Taxpayer’s Money!
Both Bills Only dealt with Non-Discretionary Funds.
A few Senators did admit that ALL should be on the Table -
Especially Defense Department -
Specifically The Pentagon!
I recently learned that IT Never Gives ANY Accounting
Of its Expenditures - IT has No GAAP In place at all!
General Accepted Accounting Principles -
In use by most Companies for DECADES!
CONGRESS has Known this for DECADES -
And Did Nothing about It!

After hearing Enough of all the GUFF -
I came to a Conclusion - The term
‘Po-lit-i-cal Rhet-or-ic’ - 7 Syllables -
Should be Shortened to 2 Syllables - ‘Bull-Shit’!

That the ‘PAIN’ should be Felt -
Across The Board!
YEAH - EVERYONE BUT THEM!
Oh, the Chairman of The Budget for Congress
Did BRAG that he Cut a Big 5% last Year!
And this year was going for a Whopping 7%!

ERGO - here are MY Suggested Budget Cuts:
1. CUT ALL CONGRESSIONAL SALARIES BY 10 %.
2. CUT ALL THEIR ‘SPECIAL’ RETIREMENT PLAN!
3. MAKE THEM LIVE ON MEAGER SSA BENEFITS LIKE US!
4. FREE ‘BOSTON BEAN SOUP’ - GONE!
5. FREE LIMO SERVICE &/OR GAS CARDS = GONE!
6. FREE JET-PLANE ‘JUNKETS’ - GONE!
7. EVERY DOLLAR OF ‘GRAFT’ REDUCES INCOME EQUALLY!
8. EVERY TIME ANY ONE OF THEM ENDS A SPEECH WITH:
“GOD BLESS AMERICA - GET A $10,000 FINE!
NEXT - MORE SERIOUS STUFF:
9. ENTIRE DEFENSE BUDGET FROZEN FOR 1 YEAR!

19. ALL ‘LOBBYISTS’ TAXES - DOUBLED!
20. ALL ‘BAIL-OUTS’ REPAID IMMEDIATELY!

And what a Paradise for Fat Cat Lobbyists and Defense Department Contractors. Hardly a surprise that we pay $1,000 for a hammer or that a military contractor makes millions feeding our troops, who often don't even get the hot meal the contractor bills the government for.
I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for this Gravy Train to ever end.
I go for the "Bull-shit" part! #1 Rule for "ALL" government employees is for them to pay their own taxes, their own homes, their own car/plane payments, their own trips, their own food, clothing, entertainment, bills, their own health insurance and anything else that pertains to them. Stop the annual automatic pay increase. STOP ALL AND I MEAN ALL SPENDING!!!!! We the people just can't afford it anymore. What a fantastic write, if only they would listen, huh?
I like the cut of your jib, Tom. I think I would do a few other things:
1) Repeal, by constitutional amendment if necessary, the Supreme Court decision that forces government to treat corporations as individual persons.
2) Make ALL corporate and interest group lobbying illegal, a felony punishable by jail time for the lobbyists AND the people who hire them, and confiscation of property and monies of groups and corporations found guilty of lobbying.
Citizens as individuals could discuss upcoming legislation with their elected officials, but it would be illegal for special interest groups to lobby or to encourage individual citizens to lobby on their behalf. This will make legislators do their own homework and level the playing field.
3) Take money out of politics, for good, and severely punish legislators found profiting in any way from their positions. This could include the death penalty. Executing the worst offenders
would be in play.
