Yesterday he rooted
in the mud
With his fat ugly snout
Hunting for whatever He could scrounge.
He was a beast of the field
Plump, round and fat
No thought for tomorrow
When he slurped down the slop
Brought by the farmer To his trough.
Today he sits proudly
On the dining room table;
A crown roast,
Bones so nicely frenched
Stuffed with a dressing
So pleasantly spiced;
Encompassed by brown potatoes,
carrots and onions
Oven roasted and tasty.
The food for him yesterday
A Kingly Cloak today.
Eat well my friend.
The lowly pig gave his life
That you may dine
With the King today,
