I am Alpha.

I was born of Alpha

Wolf pups must fight their brothers;

I won. They submit to me.

I am Alpha.

I have many in my pack;

Some are brothers and sisters, some not.

I lead my pack in the forest,

I am Alpha

I hunt. All wolves hunt.

There is joy in hunting, and catching;

I eat the best of the kill.

I am Alpha.

I have a mate, my mate.

She and I together as long as we live;

We alone will get pups,

I am Alpha.

I am Alpha.

I have always been strongest.

By my thick coat, clear eyes and white teeth

I am known. I rule.

I am Alpha

I am Alpha.

I sit on the mountain’s crag.

When the moon grows large and yellow I sing.

I sing of all my deeds.

I am Alpha.

I watch my pups play.

One will challenge some day. I will lose. It is the way.

I will no longer be Alpha.
