I often say "Fiddlesticks!" but my son always enlightens me...that's not a word mom! Fiddlesticks is and always will be a word, and I second what all Phyllis said too.

:) How can this not put a smile on the face of other writers? We have all been there, too! The point is you are writing through it and producing a poem as fun as this one. I love the exasperated words at the end of each stanza, and especially love the line, "And words I'm not on-paging." A unique rhyme that totally works.

something. . .that includes a lot of the oldie-goodie expressions.
They were so much more interesting than the ho-hum expletives that
rent the air these days, aren't they? Some of my faves include "balderdash," "poppycock," "consarn it," "holy Katzenjammer," and
dadrat-it." "Doofus" has its charms, don't you think?
"Rats!" is a good'un, too.
As for the poem's theme, what writer doesn't know the feeling?

Sometimes, there's abundance, and sometimes, we're in the desert, but with some new energy and lots of humor, things are demystified and a new energy is found...

Well, this is spot on... with the title and your words just dance down the page without effort... I will agree that at times writing is mental burden... not in a bad way... We often just need to step way and find our own ways back to who we are as scribes... Thanks for the read...
A further collection of poems, many from years in the Middle East, but also the California San Francisco and Central Coast areas (Santa Cruz, Carmel, Big Sur, Berkeley, etc.).
