I Am Happy

After recent unfortunate events, I gave myself a good "think" tonight, and I guess this is what came out..

I AM HAPPY

I am happy.

Some would say

I have no right, or reason

To be happy

But I AM happy,

Beautifully, deliciously. ridiculously

Happy

I have no car,

Lost it in an accident

The day after Thanksgiving.

Totaled-not much money

After everything gets settled,

No credit to add,

But I am not worried.

I will start making inquiries,

Looking around.

A car will be available

Or not, and if not

I will walk.

I trust God,

Not stupidly

But in honest expectation

That He will guide my steps.

That HE expects me to take steps

Because that’s what walking in faith

Is all about.

My shoulders hurt.

That’s probably the worst.

Purple bruises

Irritating pain,

Loss of mobility,

Doctors, pills, x-rays,

But still I’m happy.

Nothing seems broken;

I have good doctors,

A Great Physician,

And I know

In good time

I will recover.

Prednisone dreams

Maybe,

But I think not.

I am optimistic,

I am happy

I am content.

He has brought me so far;

So much further in 64 years

Than I could ever believe.

I have seen Him at work

In my life,

In my friends’ lives,

Whether they know it

Or not.

Whether they believe it

Or not.

I have a right to doubt

To be skeptical;

It’s a right I do not choose to exercise

Because all the evidence

Points to the contrary

What right I do chose

Is to be happy.

I am happy.

A fine testimonial of faith in face of adversity; thank you, Chip. Love and peace,

I know the feeling. It happened to me twice in recent years. Very costly, but no injuries. I think you do not have to rely on anything or anyone else to be happy. I'm hurting right now from a flu, and know that I will get through it and be much better next week. I think that your attitude, too.

Chip, two things are obvious; one you survived the accident, thankfully, and two, you're a happy fellow...not much else matters.
Cheers,
Dan
